BBQ sausage rolls

Guys, it’s Friday, and what better way to ring in this weekend than with flakey, crispy and flavoursome BBQ sausage rolls! 🌭

You’ll need: 1 jus-rol puff pastry sheet
For the filling: 300g turkey meat, 1 chopped yellow onion, 2 tbsp BBQ sauce of choice, 1 tsp oregano, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, salt and pepper to taste.
And 1 egg whisked for wash on top.

It’s as easy as unrolling your @jusrol pastry, cutting it into 4 strips, mixing the filling together with your hands, putting the filling on 2 of the strips, leavin about 1cm on each side of the meat (so we can seal the pastry), cover with empty strip, press down with fork on the edges, slit the top so the inside can cook thoroughly and wash gently with your egg (pastry brush is ideal for this) before cutting into bite-sized pieces.
Into the oven on a baking sheet at 180c fan for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown and flakey all over.

In the U.S. this 4th of July weekend marks big celebrations, BBQs, fireworks and family togetherness. With every family gathering, there is food. But sausage rolls are quintessentially British, and with all the re-opening this weekend in the U.K., I felt like this would be perfect for those maybe not looking to venture so far as to make a reservation yet (like me) so you can still enjoy something as yummy as pub food, but from the comfort of your sofa (or dining table, but ours is covered in computers and charging cables as our home office 🙈).
