Ultimate bagel and cream cheese brunch platter
Since I was little, when we’d go visit both sides of my grandparents in New York, we’d come home toting bagels in our suitcases -- because New York bagels are the best kind, am I right? The one thing, which I didn’t realise I was missing until now, was whipped cream cheese. Over the past year, I discovered (and have started working with, yay!!) Paysan Breton who make three different smooth & whipped luxurious cream cheeses, which are perfect for spreading on your bagels (and a lot more, you’ll see)!
On my platter:
- Paysan Breton French Sea Salt cream cheese
- Wholegrain bagels (Anything with lots of seeds - everything style - are my favourite)
- Baby cucumbers
- Smoked salmon
- Thick cut tomato slices
- Thinly sliced red onion
- Capers from Santorini
- Lemon wedges (of course!!)
- And to top everything off, a good sprinkle of smoked salt and cracked pepper
I like to season my tomatoes before I put them on the plate, as they become so sweet and juicy with a good pinch of salt. Add whatever makes you feel happy to your plate, but this is my quintessential bagel plate that reminds me of sitting around the big kitchen table with my family.
Just a little about the brand in case you are curious: Paysan Breton traditional French whipped cream cheese is produced using Breton milk to a French recipe, with all the ingredients sourced from France and the surrounding countryside. There are three flavours: French Sea Salt, French Garlic & Herb and Mild & Creamy Blue. You can pick up Paysan Breton cream cheese in Waitrose (all three flavours), M&S and on Ocado (just French Sea Salt).
