Creamy cajun spiced pasta and crispy bacon
Quick & easy: Creamy cajun spiced pasta + crispy bacon! 🥓
Seriously easy, and dairy free - this pasta is a quick and easy fix for lunch or dinner, and is also perfect with some black olives and a bit of feta for a pasta salad. I used spelt pasta here, but you can use any shape! You can also swap out the bacon for a vegan alternative to make this 100% vegan.
Ingredients:
250ml cream (I used Oatly vegan cream)
3-5 slices of unsmoked streaky bacon
1 tsp cajun seasoning
1 tsp smoked paprika (I use Just Natural )
1 hefty pinch of salt
+ pasta of choice, cook as directed on packet (I used Biona Organic spelt fusilli)
Simply add cream, spices and salt into a pot and heat until fragrant - you’ll be able to waft from the pot and smell this - so tasty. Fry or grill your bacon until crispy, then break into small pieces for topping. Simply stir the sauce through your cooked pasta and serve with crispy bacon on top. This sauce should serve 2-3 bowls of pasta.
I sometimes also cook my pasta halfway and then cook the rest of the way in the sauce, just another option, too. Adding chicken is also yummy!
