Spring cheese grazing platter - what to pair with it
Spring cheese grazing platter - what to pair with it ✨🥂
Now that spring is in the air (literally, this heat is my cup of tea) let’s grab our fav pet nats (yes, I’ve finally found one I like) or something bubbly and head outside - cheese and bread in basket and glass of wine in hand! Hope it doesn’t rain tomorrow, but it’s ok because wine can be drunk inside, too.
Below I’m listing my favourite natural wines and where to get them, some cheese pairings I love and the ones I’ve got my eye on:
- Lucy’s wine garden starter box, a Portugese white, organic rosé and some bubbles that are perfect for picnics. Pair these with some creamy, lighter cheeses and a summery shellfish dish (like vongole)
- Oranj Wine : Landron Chartier, a rosé that screams picnic in the park or simple a walk and talk with some fancy glasses, because that’s me in a nutshell - I bring my home wine glasses to the park and back. Also get: Everything but the kitchen sink = gr8!!!
- Wild and Lees: a wine shop I love, doing cases of 6 for mega good prices with free delivery if you’re within a few miles radius (or go pickup). I’d order Natural Box A which has a couple of the GrancerCo wines and an orange wine from Romania that looks like a sunset walk kind of drink. Grab a Greek salad, salty to pair with fresh *chefs kiss*
- Natty Boy Wines: has one of my favourite wines of all time. I once ordered a case of 12 to my office when I was a junior account manager (back in the day) and got some serious looks. Everyone who tries it loves it, and guarantee you need a sip. The wine is called LaPierre Raisins Gaulois Gamay (and it’ll be a 2020 youre after). For £15 ish it’s a bang for your buck drink. Get a Camembert for this and enjoy ♥️
- I couldn’t forget my favourite wine bar, that Josh treks about 2 hours with me to go to and sit in the window with a glass of wine, some bread and olive oil (must be at least a year since I’ve been), PFranco E5 whose Noble Fine Liquor have an online shop that almost outdoes anyone else. Replicate the vibe at home and get a quality olive oil, crusty foccacia and dunk away 🥂of course while sipping some wine. It may not all be natural, but it’s somewhere I have to shout about.
