Warm miso and sesame sweet roasted purple beetroot tarts
Warm miso and sesame sweet roasted purple beetroot tarts! Great for sharing, saving or picnicking ☀️
Ingredients:
5 beetroots, peeled and chopped
2 tbsp miso paste (I used @misotasty )
2 tsp sesame seeds
2 tbsp olive oil
1 puff pastry pre-made (I used @jus_rol ) and cut into 6 smaller tarts
Toss chopped beetroot in olive oil and roast on a baking tray in the oven at 200c fan for about 25-30 minutes until firm but soft. Then take out and in a bowl mix beetroot with miso paste and sesame seeds. Outline a crust on each tart you’ve cut and fork the middle of each lightly. Place your beetroot inside each “framed” tart and place each one gently on a baking sheet on a baking tray. Pop back into the oven for about 20 minutes until the pastry is fluffy and golden around the edges. Enjoy warm and sprinkle a few more sesame seeds on for good measure!
After eating two, I attempted to carry these across the kitchen to give to Josh and tripped on our livingroom rug throwing 2 of the 4 left into the air and splatted face-down on the wooden floor... literally like 1 cm from our new rug that we spent a fortune on... I think I would have cried if we got beetroot on that rug. My @sohohome EAT DRINK NAP book wasn’t so lucky and got away with a splash of purple that I couldn’t get out 🙈 it’s a fabric cover, but I thank my lucky stars that only the book took a hit there... 🌟🌟🌟 I can get another one. Josh ate the safe two and said he wished I hadn’t tripped because he’d have finished the lot. 🥰
